A historic and world-famous winery, a stone's throw from Lake Maggiore

The History of Travaglini began in the 1920s, when Clemente Travaglini started making wine from the grapes of his small vineyards.

In 1958, Giancarlo Travaglini inherited the company: in the same year, he created and patented the traditional Travaglini bottle, also known as the “crooked bottle”.

This is also the year of progress and evolution, not only within the Travaglini family, but also from a viticultural and enological perspective, thanks to Giancarlo. His curiosity, culture and passion have led to major changes in the winery and vineyards, thanks to pioneering research in this region, aimed at improving viticultural methods and therefore the final quality of the product.

Gattinara is a small town in the heart of the namesake wine region in the area of Upper Piedmont, right at the foot of Monte Rosa. This extraordinary place boasts a truly unique terroir, incredibly suited to producing Nebbiolo wines of remarkable complexity, elegance and freshness.

With one of the oldest wine regulations in Italy, Gattinara was awarded DOC status in 1967 and DOCG designation in 1990.
